Adopting a Companion

Depending on what you intend on doing with your new pal, you can either go the rescue or registered breeder route. Please do not support pet shops or commercial mills - the animals live in misery and you are not helping by giving them your money!

Choosing a Breeder

If you want to get into protection sports or compete seriously in any canine sport, then your best bet is to start researching dog breeds that excels in your chosen sport. Once you've found your match, the next step is to find an ethical breeder with bloodlines proven to produce competitive dogs.

Moving to the EU with Pets

Timing is of the essence when it comes to making preparations (vaccinations, rabies antibody tests, deworming, securing an appropriate transport carrier, booking a place for your pet on a flight etc.), so start research and planning at least six months ahead of time if coming from outside of the EU!

Dog Attack: What to do?

People often hesitate to report a dog attack, because they believe that the dog will be euthanized. This is, however, a myth: it is extremely unlikely, not to mention it takes several lengthy court cases and repeated attacks (including on humans) to get to that point.
